HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT THE NEW FSA CBD LAW?🖊
This is MUST KNOW information for ALL manufacturers and retailers of CBD products within the UK.
FSAs New CBD Law
Following the recent announcement from the Food Standards Agency (FSA) regarding the safety and regulations of CBD products, we have put together a short FAQ, so you can see exactly what this new ruling could mean for you.
What is The FSA’s New Ruling?
The Food Standards Agency has set a deadline of 31st March 2021 to submit valid novel food authorisation applications.
What does this mean?
Only products which have submitted a valid application by this time will be allowed to remain on the market. This will give companies over 1 year to ensure that they comply with the new regulations.
Which products are covered under the new regulations?
This applies to any consumable CBD product. E-liquids and cosmetics are not included.
Why this is good news?
This is great for customers and businesses alike, as testing through the relevant channels will ensure product safety. It will also mean that the products must be labelled correctly and do not contain substances which fall under drug legislation.
This in turn guarantees that only quality CBD products will be available on the market, and will deem low-grade, non-compliant products to be illegal. This protects public health and ensures that sellers are covered for any health claims.
What do you have to do?
At Cannabidiol Online we have always believed that the CBD industry needed more strict regulation and guidelines for products. As we work with some of the most trusted and reliable manufacturers, most of the brands on our platform have already submitted their applications and are fully aware of the new ruling.
